FROM THE PRESIDENT

Although it doesn't really feel like winter yet, the winter solstice has come and gone. Last year's snow on Christmas Day was not duplicated and nothing is forecast for the immediate future.

Our December program at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church featured two groups from the Chattanooga Girls' Choir, led by two CMC members, Delores Beery and Joan Tonkinson. Both groups were simply delightful and it is so heartening to see even quite young children participating. The church sanctuary was beautiful with Christmas decorations and the luncheon afterwards was wonderful. What a great way to end up the first half of our year.

We have much to look forward to in the second half (see Calendar for the remainder of the schedule), with the much-anticipated McDowell Club/Chattanooga Music Club joint recital in January at Cadek Hall, and in February Bruce Clark and Friends will perform at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The Scholarship Committee has been busy getting ready for the spring competition and with the wonderful scholarships available, I am hopeful that we will have a strong competition.

Best Regards,
Jeannette Martin
President
